crisp.  fresh.  journey.

A week ago I was up in Alaska.  I have been there a few times, but seemed to be shocked each time I go there at how BEAUTIFUL it is.  It is the kind of fresh beauty that you think is only in the movies.  While I was there I was lucky enough to get to shoot Sidney, a senior in high school.  We had fun walking around town and then ended up at the beach.  I think her favorite part of the evening was when I wiped out heading over a bridge – but I will do whatever it takes to get laughs… Her mom also helped out with the laughs too – Thanks Nicole for making me feel like I was not the only clumsy one ;) 2014-08-25_00012014-08-25_00022014-08-25_00032014-08-25_0004.52014-08-25_00042014-08-25_00062014-08-25_0007.52014-08-25_00072014-08-25_00082014-08-25_00102014-08-25_00112014-08-25_00122014-08-25_00132014-08-25_00152014-08-25_0016

Mom blog {Phoenix, family photographer}

blogs.  family. candid.

Just wanted to share a session I did a few months back.  It is for a new blog called GO MOM – that Banner health puts out.  I shoot quite a bit for Banner Health, which are hospitals out here in Phoenix.  This was a fun session, Nicole is a mom to three with her husband and will be blogging about it.  Not in the Pinterest perfect lifestyle but the more realistic lifestyle.

plus one {phoenix, family photographer}

baby.  bliss.  addition.

What I love about my job is how I get to travel the country and see cool area’s while shooting amazing clients.  My summer months are filled with new cities which opens my eyes up to great scenery.  In the first month I have visited Cleveland, Cincy, Indianapolis, San Diego and Flagstaff with a trip to Hawaii in the next few days.  So while Phoenix is HOT I go to the right spots!!  Amanda and Steve live here in Phoenix with me but as Steve said “Bun in the Oven is just an expression. We don’t really need to cook the little guy.” so off to Flagstaff we headed.  It is such a cute town in Northern Arizona and about 25 degrees cooler!  I had a great time with these two and I can not wait to meet their new addition!

fun in ohio {phoenix, family photographer}

laughter. laughter. laughter.

My session with the Shotwells is filled with TONS OF LAUGHTER.  They are a family that loves to have fun with one another and are not afraid to act goofy.  I seem to always forget that I am ‘working’ when taking their pics because I am laughing right along with them!  I feel so lucky that I get amazing clients and get to capture their lives!

Lawrence Springwood - Gorgeous!

summer fun {phoenix, family photographer}

sun.  time.  memories.

Looking back at summer when I was a kid, I am flooded with memories of freedom, laughter, water, and good times.  Whenever asked what one of my favorite things to do when a kid it would have been riding on our boat.  At the end of the day after being on the water, feeling exhausted and a little sun burned my sister and I would climb to the front of the boat cover ourselves with blankets and let our dad drive us slowly home.  It made me feel safe, protected and loved.  So when the Kleins asked me to come to their lake house I was ALL OVER IT!! I love that I got to document them enjoying their life and it makes me happy to know exactly the fond memories these little boys will have being able to spend family time together.
