a little bit about me {phoenix, family photographer}

passion.  joy.  life.

Here is a post that has nothing to do with me taking pictures, but just the opposite.  A few months ago I decided I wanted to have my pictures taken, I needed some updated photos to put on my website, blog and social media.  As much as I love being behind the camera is about as much as I don’t enjoy being in front of it… or so I thought.  I spent hours trying to figure out what to wear, and there was just one of me  (well Hoover did not need anything fancy) and trying to figure out what I wanted to show in my pictures.  Like I shoot you guys, I just wanted to show my energy so that when I look back at these I remember who I was at this time of my life. Trevor (my awesome photographer) showed up and made it so much easier then I had expected.  We spent some time at my house because I want to show my clients and friends a little bit more about me and my surroundings, and then we went a mile south and spent some time in the arts district in Phoenix.  Since you guys let me into your life, I just wanted to invite you into mine a bit.

special moments {phoenix, family photographer}

birth.  new.  life.

Meeting and getting to photograph Torin felt like the most natural progression in my journey with Amanda and Steve.  I have been there for so many of their special days and moments and feel so grateful that they let me in to capture their life.  (you can see some of their sessions here, here and here) At home sessions have become a new love of mine, especially with newborns.  You get to capture what life is really like and I love showing a whole story of the family and those first few days, it also doesn’t hurt when you have a baby that is a little star and parents that are this good looking!!  I love getting around to blogging sessions from last year and re-looking at these moments, can’t believe he is already 5 months old!

Fall time {phoenix, family photographer)

photography.  wilderness.  love.

If you remember in my last post I talked about sharing more of my awesome sessions… Well that was in October, so I have failed at blogging!  Now that things are slowing down, I am going to get back at it.  Cortney is an amazing new born photographer in the Phoenix area and when she contacted me to shoot her sweet little family I jumped at it.  I always have a few extra nerves when shooting a photographer, but I got past those and we braved the cold Sedona air and got some amazing photos!!
